Updated November 1, 2026, with prices from Google Workspace's page checked that day. Per user, in US dollars, excluding taxes.
Short answer
In its most common use, Gemini for business is bought inside Google Workspace: the suite with email, Drive, Meet and Docs. Workspace starts at USD 7 per user per month (Starter) and goes up to USD 14 on Standard, with Gemini included in the apps. If your company already uses Google Workspace, the question is not how much Gemini costs but whether your plan includes what your team needs.
What Gemini includes in each plan
| Plan | Price per user per month | What it adds |
|---|
| Starter | USD 7 | 30 GB of pooled storage per person, business email, Gemini assistant in Gmail and video meetings for up to 100 participants |
| Standard | USD 14. With the introductory discount, USD 11.20 for up to 20 users | 2 TB, Gemini in Gmail, Docs, Meet and other apps |
| Plus | USD 22 | Plan with more suite features. Check the full list on Google's page |
| Enterprise | Custom | Advanced controls for large organizations |
The 20% discount for 12 months, for up to 20 users on the Standard plan, appears on Google's page with validity from November 15, 2026. Check it when you sign up.
Gemini vs Claude and ChatGPT
This is not a one-to-one comparison. Workspace is a complete suite: email, storage, video meetings and documents, with Gemini as the AI layer. Claude Team and ChatGPT Business are per-seat AI accounts that do not replace your email or cloud storage.
That changes the math. If you already have a Workspace plan that includes Gemini, the extra cost is zero and the benefit is that AI works on the email and documents you already have. If your team needs an assistant to reason through problems, write proposals or code, Claude or ChatGPT may be more useful, and they coexist with Workspace without trouble.
When Gemini for business makes sense
- Your company runs on Google Workspace and the team lives in Gmail, Docs and Meet.
- You want meeting summaries, writing help inside documents and search across your email.
- The priority is consolidating tools and cutting scattered licenses.
When another tool makes more sense
- Your main work is complex analysis or writing outside the suite.
- Your team already works with Claude or ChatGPT and has processes built around them.
- You need specific connectors (CRM, ERP, marketing tools) more than Google's suite.
Google also sells Gemini Enterprise as a separate product for large organizations. We do not compare it here because we have not verified its price.
How to decide without wasting time
Run a two-week test with two or three people: an email task (summarizing threads and drafting replies), a document task (building a proposal from notes) and a recorded meeting with a summary. Measure the time saved and the quality. If the benefit shows up in the workflow you already have, the answer is Workspace with Gemini. If not, compare it with the other options.
